Here is a simple, but undeniable truth: HVAC technicians make the HVAC industry go round. Of course, the ownership, administration and sales staffs are very integral to our business, but here at Masters Heating & Cooling, Inc., we have a special appreciation for our top-of-the-line technicians. Here is a good analogy that illustrates the importance of our HVAC techs. The aforementioned personnel inbound the basketball, dribble it up the court and pass it to the technician. It is then his job to put the ball in the basket. In other words, if the technician doesn’t score, we can’t win.
June 22 is HVAC Tech Day and in celebration, we want to let all of our customers know just what it takes to be an HVAC technician. We think you will be surprised at how much training and dedication it takes to be a successful HVAC technician:
HVAC Technician Training Is Key
In addition to the basic education and training, we require all of our technicians to complete North American Technician Excellence (NATE) certification. NATE is the leading certification for HVAC technicians and is the only testing/certification supported by the entire nationwide industry.
In addition, we provide ongoing training to keep our professionally-licensed HVAC technicians up-to-speed on the latest technology, service, and maintenance improvements and specifications, as well as safety procedures. We also perform background checks and drug testing to make sure that our technicians can fulfill Masters’ high expectations.
All of the training, testing, and screening plays a part in the everyday requirements met by our technicians. This is especially true when it comes to our most important services, HVAC maintenance and replacement. Our Masters’ HVAC technicians can service all models and we are happy to offer Carrier systems for a new installation.
What an HVAC Technician Does During a Tune-Up
An HVAC tune-up includes the basics:
A Comprehensive Safety Inspection
Cleaning of the Condenser Coils
Inspecting and Tightening of Electrical Connections
Ductwork Inspection and Repair
Refrigerant Level Check
Our technicians must be ready to handle all of this and more, especially if HVAC replacement is needed. In that instance, our technicians will perform a thorough analysis of your home, determine the size and efficiency needs of a new system and then help you make the final call.
Our HVAC technicians must also be prepared to respond to HVAC emergencies. Masters offers our customers 24/7 emergency service seven days a week, so on-call takes on a special meaning for our pros.
So, on June 22, say hi to one of our HVAC technicians if you get the chance. And, if you live in the Fort Wayne, Angola, Decatur, Mishawaka, Greenwood or Indianapolis, Indiana areas, call Masters for all your HVAC needs.
