So, your HVAC system needs a check-up and tune-up. Or, you have made the decision (or your old, inefficient and break-down-prone AC unit has made it for you) to replace your HVAC system. This is tough enough duty as it is, for a variety of reasons, including cost, inconvenience and … well, cost!. So, the last thing you want to worry about is whether you have the right contractor at your home – whether it is performing the installation or even if you are hiring one for a seasonal tune-up.
Of course, if you live in the Indiana communities of Fort Wayne, Angola, Decatur, Mishawaka, Greenwood or Indianapolis, you can eliminate that worry by calling your friends at Masters Heating & Cooling, Inc. Our office staff will get you scheduled right way with our professionally-licensed and certified technicians, who can give your system a thorough inspection/HVAC tune-up or guide you every step of the way through HVAC replacement process.
That said, no matter who you call, make sure you do your homework first. By vetting potential air conditioning repair or replacement contractors, you can save yourself a lot of anguish down the road. Here a few things to consider and be ready to ask of any contractor:
Are You Professionally-Licensed?
The following question should be can I see your license? Contractors licensed by the state or municipal boards will perform work that will stand up to the scrutiny of inspectors.
Are You a Member of the Air Conditioning Contractors of America (ACCA)?
Along with “Do you have a North American Technician Excellence (NATE) certification?” Both are well-respected and trusted credentials in the HVAC industry.
Check Consumer Advocacy Groups’ Reviews and Ratings
What others have to say about their experiences with a particular contractor can be helpful, especially when it comes to customer service and reliability.
Ask to See Examples of Previous Experience
Most HVAC contractors can handle the basics, such as checking refrigerant levels, etc. But make sure any contractor you are considering has experience with similar jobs that you are hiring them for.
Another thing to consider is the size of the contracting company and whether or not they offer service in multiple areas. Often, these companies employ the best technicians and have encountered just about every kind of HVAC emergency, repair or replacement there is. That is yet another box that we check here at Masters. With our six locations, we have the greater Fort Wayne area and surrounding communities covered.
Since 1980, we have been providing HVAC solutions and service to our customers. Give us a call today to find out why Masters is the go-to name in the Fort Wayne area HVAC community … and check us out on Facebook and Twitter, too!
