Water Heaters

It’s Time to Pay Attention to Your Water Heater

Everyone seems to spend a lot of time thinking and talking about the efficiency of heating & cooling systems. There’s nothing wrong with that. In most homes, they are the largest single energy user in the home. What we at Masters Heating & Cooling can’t figure out is why people don’t spend more time thinking about their hot water heaters. It’s generally the second largest energy user and yet everyone ignores it.

Just like HVAC systems, water heaters continue to become more technologically advanced and efficient every year. Masters features models from two of the leading manufacturers:

A.O. Smith – This company has been delivering hot water to the world for more than 80 years. Whether gas or electric, they design water heaters with one goal in mind, bringing comfort into your life. A.O. Smith manufacturers a full line of commercial water heaters as well, no matter the size of your project. The company also has a full line of the newer-style tankless water heaters (more on that in a moment).

Navien – Speaking of tankless, it’s what Navien specializes in. A tankless system heats the water as you use it. The product line includes water heaters for residential hot water, combi boilers that can supply hot water for the house AND for your radiant heating system, and stand-alone boilers.

The very first decision is what style water heater is best for your lifestyle and situation: tank style or tankless. Because a tankless heater only heats the water you use, instead of keeping an entire tank hot, it is more energy efficient. Another plus is you will virtually never run out of hot water.

If you have any questions about what’s best for you, call Masters Heating & Cooling and one of our licensed plumbers will be happy to answer them for you.
