Filtration

Indoor air quality is one of the hottest topics these days with all the research coming out about how it contributes to your overall health and well-being. That’s probably why you are here reading this! One of the most important steps in elevating your indoor air quality level is your filtration product. With proper filtration, you can prevent airborne dust, pollen, bacteria, and other contaminants from passing through your HVAC system.

Our indoor air quality specialists have several alternatives to present, depending upon your need and budget. The preferred filter line we offer here at Masters Heating & Cooling is Honeywell. This great product line has ranked among the top products and been a preferred brand in homes for more than a century because they provide a high percentage of filtration no matter what level of filter you choose.

The Honeywell filtration products can vary in size and MERV rating. Check out some of the heating and cooling filters below.

Filtration Efficiency

Minimum Efficiency Reporting Value (MERV) is a very effective way to measure the overall effectiveness of an air purifier. This scale ranges from 1 to 16: the higher the MERV, the better the system is at not allowing particles and other contaminants to move through the air filter. Whether it’s a CF200 Media Filter or a MERV 14 Return Grille Filter, Masters Heating & Cooling has all of the filters that you could need to keep the air in your home as clean as possible.

FAQs

When choosing an air filter, you should consider the dimensions, the thickness, the MERV rating and the material.  The thicker the filter and the higher the MERV rating, the more efficient.  Media filters are 20 times more efficient than traditional fiberglass.

  • Master’s Heating & Cooling offers professional grade filters that are the most efficient filters for your air unit. The filters sold at the grocery store or big-box stores will not offer as high of a rating of filtration as what we can provide.
  • This is a myth. Most HVAC systems built in the last 20 years should have no issue using higher rated air filters.  Changing dirty filters is the best way to avoid restricted air flow.
